Government Alpha

Government Alpha is the harsh noise and power electronics project of Japanese artist Yasutoshi Yoshida, active since the early 1990s and one of the most technically accomplished practitioners of extreme electronic music. Working within the tradition of Japanese noise — a practice associated with artists including Merzbow, Incapacitants, and C.C.C.C. — Yoshida has developed a distinctive approach that applies structural precision to the construction of noise, producing releases of remarkable formal coherence within an apparently chaotic sonic field. His output spans hundreds of releases on labels including Alien8 and RRRecords, maintaining a consistently high standard of craft.
