Giuseppe Ielasi
Giuseppe Ielasi is an Italian artist born in 1974, living near Milan. He began playing the guitar in 1988 and worked for many years in improvised music before shifting his practice substantially in 2007, moving away from live performance with the guitar toward studio-based composition for CDs, records, theater, and film. His performances now involve multichannel diffusion and recomposition of pre-existing material, creating complex site-specific sound works from layers of accumulated fragments.
He has appeared at festivals worldwide and toured extensively in Europe, the United States, and Japan.
