Ghislaine Leung
Ghislaine Leung (b. 1980) is a British artist whose practice is built on self-imposed constraints to produce sculpture, sound works, and institutional interventions. Her method involves developing rules or parameters for a body of work and adhering to them strictly, producing outcomes that are provisional, site-responsive, and attentive to the social conditions of art production. Sound is central to her practice — deployed as a material that occupies and activates architectural and institutional space without resolving into stable forms. Her work often addresses the hidden labour and economics of cultural production, including childcare, budgets, and institutional time given to artists.
