Gavsborg

Gavsborg is the alias of Gavin Blair, a Jamaican producer from East Kingston who now splits time with Berlin. He co-founded Equiknoxx Music at school in Kingston, and after early dancehall credits, including Busy Signal's Step Out, became the driving force behind the collective alongside Nick Deane and Jordan Chung (Time Cow). Equiknoxx's international breakthrough came with Bird Sound Power (2016) and Colon Man (2017) on Demdike Stare's DDS label, introducing a warped, genre-defiant mutant dancehall built from found sound, off-kilter riddims, and bird samples. His solo debut 1 Hour Service (2023) was recorded across Kingston and Berlin. He has also recorded as unkle G and Groundsound.
