Gaahl

Gaahl (born Kristian Espedal in 1975 in Espedalen, Norway) is a Norwegian vocalist and artist best known for his work in the black metal band Gorgoroth, which he joined in the mid-1990s and with which he became one of the most recognizable and controversial figures in Norwegian black metal. His confrontational stage presence, austere philosophical statements, and association with extreme imagery defined a particular strand of theatrical black metal performance.

His time with Gorgoroth was marked by significant controversy, including a lengthy legal battle over the ownership of the band name, as well as criminal charges that became part of the mythology surrounding him.
