Freya Zinovieff

Freya Zinovieff is an interdisciplinary scholar, artist and curator whose work sits at the intersection of sound studies, critical theory and decolonial praxis. She holds a PhD from Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts and Technology, an MFA from the University of New South Wales, and a BA from Anglia Ruskin University. She is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, researching Echoes of Empire: Decolonial Sound Studies Linking Canada and Jamaica. Since 2019 she has collaborated with Gabriela Aceves Sepúlveda, Steve DiPaola and prOphecy sun on works using AI to probe entangled human, non-human and colonial temporalities.
