Frédéric Acquaviva

Frédéric Acquaviva is a French composer and sound artist whose practice is rooted in the avant-garde tradition while engaging with contemporary questions of performance, text, and institutional critique. He has organized major retrospectives of work by Ghérasim Luca and Henri Chopin and produces his own compositions that engage with voice, noise, and text. He runs the label aaa — the 'Association des années amont' — and has collaborated with visual artists and composers internationally. His curatorial and critical work has helped preserve and extend the legacy of European sound poetry.
