Fog

Fog is the project of Andrew Broder, a Minneapolis-based musician and producer. Active since the late 1990s on Ninja Tune and Anticon, Fog developed a style of sample-based hip-hop and electronic music distinguished by unusual collage, unexpected timbral combinations, and a refusal of genre comfort. Albums including Ether Teeth (2001) and Ditherer (2005) demonstrated both technical sophistication with sampling and a strong sense of melody and composition within unconventional electronic structures. Broder has also collaborated with other Anticon artists and worked in more acoustic folk and singer-songwriter contexts alongside his electronic work.
