Flower Travellin' Band
Flower Travellin' Band was a Japanese heavy rock and psychedelic group led by vocalist Joe Yamanaka and guitarist Hideki Ishima, active from 1969 to 1973 and reunited intermittently since. Managed by Yuya Uchida and recording for Atlantic Japan, they produced a series of albums — particularly Satori (1971) — that combined Black Sabbath's heaviness with Eastern philosophy and Japanese aesthetic sensibility in recordings that remained largely unknown outside Japan until the international rise of interest in Japanese psychedelic rock. Their influence on Japanese heavy music and on international psychedelic revivalists has grown substantially through rediscovery.
