Farmers Manual

Farmers Manual is an Austrian experimental music collective active since the early 1990s, comprising Stefan Németh, Oswald Berthold, and others. Their practice works with software-generated sound, glitch, and data-derived composition — developed largely in Vienna and rooted in the Mego label community. Releases including Fsck (1995), Explorers We (1998), and No Backup (2000) situated them at the intersection of digital process music and improvisation. They are also known for the extensive web and CD archive project rla.c3.hu and a sustained engagement with the intersections of music, data, and network culture.
