Faranaz Hatam
Born in Tehran in 1967, Farahnaz Hatam is a sound artist, composer, and DJ active in Berlin's experimental music scene. Trained originally in molecular biology, she later studied with minimalist sculptor Robert Morris and pursued algorithmic composition with Sergio Luque, working primarily with SuperCollider. She co-founded N.K., the influential platform and project space in Berlin that operated from 2008 until its closure due to loss of funding. Performing in the duo Hacklander/Hatam and the collaborative project Studio LABOUR, she has received commissions from Sharjah Art Foundation, Martin Gropius Bau, and Berlin Atonal.
