Family Underground

Family Underground is a Copenhagen-based experimental electronic group formed in 2000. Following the death of founding member Jesper Hedegaard in 2015, the project continued as a duo: Sara Czerny on bass, synthesizers, vocals, and drums, and Nicolas Kauffmann on guitar, vocals, and electronics. Working under their own description of Raw Data Music, they fuse free improvisation with psychedelic electronic drone, analog synthesis, IDM structures, and noise. Their approach draws on Danish analog aesthetics and an interest in transforming chaotic processes into something habitable. They maintain an active output through Bandcamp and have shared recordings with WFMU.
