Evil Moisture

One of the European pioneers of circuit-bending, Andy Bolus has performed and released work as Evil Moisture since the early 1990s. His practice involves modifying toys and electronic detritus found in flea markets and trash — rewiring circuits to produce uncontrollable and unprecedented sounds — alongside home-built tape loop delays and reel-to-reel collage. He has released dozens of cassettes, vinyl LPs, and CDs on numerous noise labels, and has performed hundreds of times across Europe and Japan. Working across noise, musique concrète, comics, and visual art, his approach is consistently shaped by collage, cut-up, and a refusal of conventional instrument use.
