Éric la Casa

Éric la Casa is a French field recordist and sound artist based in Paris. His practice is focused on the acoustic capture of urban environments — particularly the architectural and social soundscapes of Paris and other cities — with a documentary precision and compositional sensibility. He releases on his own Swarming imprint and other labels including Unfathomless and Bruit, and has collaborated with Jean-Luc Guionnet and others. His Radio Fragments series and recordings of specific Paris locations are central works in the field recording genre, treating the urban acoustic environment with the attention usually reserved for music composition.
