Emil Beaulieau

Emil Beaulieau is the performing alias of Ron Lessard, born 5 July 1957, who is also the founder of RRRecords, one of the central distribution and label operations of the American noise underground. His live sets feature a custom four-armed turntable — named the Minutoli after its maker — combined with feedback loops and everyday objects to produce high-velocity, unpredictable noise. First performing informally around 1985, Beaulieau has since released dozens of cassettes and several vinyl records on noise labels internationally, and has collaborated and performed with artists including Merzbow, Pain Jerk, and Richard Ramirez of Black Leather Jesus.
