Ella van der Woude

Ella van der Woude is a Swiss-Dutch composer and pianist based in Amsterdam. Trained at the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Amsterdam Film Academy, her practice spans solo piano works and film scores. Her album Solo Piano (Snowstar Records, 2020) was recorded in her apartment; her film scores include Instinct (Halina Reijn, 2019), Moloch (2022), Silver Haze (2023), and Armand (2024, Cannes Prix de la meilleure création sonore). She has won two Golden Calves for Best Film Score and composed the score for Charlie Kaufman's How to Shoot a Ghost. She is the first and only female composer to win a Golden Calf.
