El Jardín de las Matemáticas

El Jardín de las Matemáticas is a cross-continental improvisational ensemble comprising Alvaro Daguer and Tomás Salvatierra (Santiago, Chile), Pablo Picco (Salsipuedes, Argentina), and Mark Harwood (Berlin). Recorded between January and July 2023 across Chile and Argentina, their self-titled debut LP was mastered by Rashad Becker and released on Penultimate Press (London, 2024) in a limited 300-copy pressing. Working with Chinese drum, ocarina, flutes, violin, clarinet, Korg MS-20, harmonium, gongs, and tapes, their music blends folk, ethnomusicology, musique concrète, and psychedelia — described by the label as "acoustic DMT," with references to Angus Maclise and Pygmy Unit.
