efdemin

Efdemin is the alias of Phillip Sollmann, a German DJ and producer born in 1974 in Kassel and based in Berlin, whose idiosyncratic minimal techno draws on dub, deep house, and Detroit techno to produce music of considerable depth and psychedelic intensity. He moved to Berlin in 2005 and quickly became a resident DJ at Berghain, one of the city's most influential clubs. His releases include the debut EP Kleine Wirrniss (Dial, 2004), Chicago (2010), Decay (2012), and New Atlantis (2018). As Phillip Sollmann he also works in experimental contexts, including Monophonie, a microtonal piece for Ensemble Musikfabrik built around Harry Partch's instruments, premiered at Berlin's Volksbühne in 2017.
