Eberhard Blum

Eberhard Blum (1940–2020) was a German flautist who became one of the central interpreters of new music in the second half of the twentieth century. Based in New York for many years, he premiered and recorded works by many major composers, including John Cage, Morton Feldman, Christian Wolff, and Toshi Ichiyanagi. His editions and recordings for hat ART, Wergo, and other labels document a lifetime of commitment to the most demanding contemporary repertoire. He was also a key collaborator with Cage, participating in many of his most important later performances and recordings.
