DVS1

DVS1 (Zak Khutoretsky) is an American techno DJ and producer working between Minneapolis and Berlin, widely regarded as one of the most technically accomplished and culturally serious practitioners in contemporary techno. His DJ sets — long, patient constructions developing over hours — reflect deep knowledge of the Detroit, Chicago, and Berlin traditions and a thorough understanding of collective listening. His productions on 3024 and his own Hush label carry the same precision as his live work. Beyond music, DVS1 has been a significant voice in critical discussions of DJ economics, founding the royalty-sharing platform Aslice in 2022 to narrow the pay gap between DJs and producers.
