Dr. Kontra

Mexico City-based visual and audio artist who, since the late 1990s, has combined video, audio, installation, and performance to construct experimental platforms centred on human behaviour as a territory where fears, projections, and instincts manifest. In 1996 he founded ENCEFALISIS, a noise and power electronics project described as a distortion outside the box—a resonance imaging of war noise and cataleptic transgression. Releases include Homónimo, Actos Paganos, 999, 13, ERROR, and Traga Traga Traga. He is a co-founder of the BINARIA collective, which promoted experimental, industrial, noise, performance, and video music in Mexico.
