Doon Kanda

Doon Kanda is the musical alias of Jesse Kanda, a visual artist and producer born 1987, who grew up between Japan and Canada before settling in London. He began sharing work via DeviantArt, where he met Arca as a teenager. Under the Doon Kanda name he produces hazy, disorienting experimental electronic music channeling themes of growth, decay, the body, and the subconscious through fractured club-adjacent sound design. His debut album Labyrinth appeared in 2020 on Hyperdub. Kanda is also recognised as a visual collaborator, having created photography and visual identities for Arca, Björk, and FKA Twigs. His sleeve for FKA Twigs' LP1 earned a Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package.
