Donnacha Costello

Irish electronic musician and composer who began producing music in 1989 and emerged as an internationally recognised figure in minimal techno around 2000, after completing a philosophy degree and immersing himself in the work of Steve Reich and John Cage. He founded the label Minimise in 1999 and released Growing Up In Public and Together Is The New Alone on Force Inc and Mille Plateaux. His Colorseries in 2004 brought wide recognition, followed by 6x6=36 (2006) and It Simply Is/Trust (2008). His meticulous structures draw on Chicago House, Detroit Techno, and UK Ambient Techno, combining vintage studio equipment with computer-assisted precision.
