Donato Dozzy

Donato Dozzy, born Donato Scaramuzzi, is a Rome-based DJ and producer celebrated for a hypnotic, spacious strain of techno and ambient sound. He cut his teeth from 1999 as a resident at Rome's Brancaleone club, releasing minimal techno singles from 2004 with collaborators including Giorgio Gigli and Brando Lupi. His work with Neel as Voices from the Lake (2012) became a touchstone of slow-motion, dub-inflected techno, while solo full-lengths pushed further into immersive, meditative drift. A former Berghain resident who has played Dekmantel and Primavera Sound, Dozzy earned the nickname "The Professor" for pairing a doctorate in political science with encyclopedic musical knowledge.
