Dominique Vaccaro
Dominique Vaccaro is an Italian visual artist and self-taught electroacoustic musician, grown up in southern Italy and long based in Bologna. He picked up the guitar at 12, listening to blues from his father's record collection, and later moved to Bologna to study painting at the Fine Art Academy, where he encountered musique concrète. That encounter shaped everything that followed. His practice centres on collage in an expanded sense — extending from visual work to sound — and he has spent years exploring the possibilities of magnetic tape: mixing shortwave radio, field recordings, voice, and guitars into dense, layered compositions.
