DJ Marcelle

Dutch DJ, producer, and radio host Marcelle van Hoof has been active since the punk era of 1977, driven by an unrelenting passion for underground music. Performing on three turntables simultaneously, she blends dub, experimental electronics, post-punk, industrial techno, African vocals, Syrian beats, and global sounds into freewheeling, rhythmically intricate sets that prioritise improvisation and wit. Her vinyl collection numbers over 20,000 records. She broadcasts the weekly show Another Nice Mess on DFM and has been appointed lifetime resident DJ at Uganda's Nyege Nyege Music Festival. Often compared to John Peel for her breadth of curation and commitment to the underground.
