Dirk Dresselhaus

Born 1970 in Bielefeld, Berlin-based Dirk Dresselhaus cut his teeth in rock bands Hip Young Things and Locust Fudge before launching Schneider TM in 1997. His 1998 City Slang album Moist and the Kpt.Michi.Gan collaboration "The Light 3000," a warped cover of the Smiths, made him a touchstone of indietronica. Since then Schneider TM has ranged across abrasive improvisation, pop songcraft and soundtrack work, notably 2021's The 8 of Space and 2023's Ereignishorizont on Karlrecords. Dresselhaus regularly collaborates with Ilpo Väisänen, Jochen Arbeit, Damo Suzuki and dancer Tomoko Nakasato, treating guitar, voice and electronics as one continuously mutating instrument.
