Diego Behncke

Diego Behncke is a composer working between Santiago de Chile and Berlin, releasing through the Berlin label Prensa Manual. His practice favors computational process over conventional instrumentation: computer-assisted orchestration via Orchidea, corpus-based concatenative synthesis through CatOracle and CataRT, and synthetic voice tools like Vocaloid and WaveNet. His 2022 album Machine Anamnesis, made between Santiago and Berlin, recursively re-composes its own material to probe memory and machine cognition, drawing on Beckett, Artaud, and Borges. He treats the machinic as unfolding by its own logic, and has also scored film, including the 2018 feature Rapaz.
