Destroy All Monsters
Destroy All Monsters was an American experimental rock and noise band formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1973 by Mike Kelley, Jim Shaw, Carey Loren, and Niagara. The members met in the art department of the University of Michigan, sharing a milieu that sat between art theory, garage rock, and underground cinema. Their name came from a late-1960s Japanese B-movie.
The original lineup was active from 1973 to 1976, producing recordings that synthesized musique concrète, garage rock, schlock horror imagery, and Dadaist performance.
