Daniel Menche
Born in Portland, Oregon in 1969, his recording practice began in 1989 and spans electro-acoustic composition, harsh noise, dark ambient, field recordings, and percussion. Stacking orchestral textures, feedback, pipe organs, brass horns, and granular synthesis into monolithic structures, he has released dozens of albums over three decades. Notable records include Fields of Skin (1997), Deluge (2003), and Vilké (2013). Since 2008 he has also created abstract video art using stop-motion photo animation. In 2013 he formed the rhythmic noise band BEAST, exploring polyrhythmic animalism with rotating guest musicians.
