Daisuke Ishida

Born in Tokyo in 1980 and based in Berlin since 2004, he studied political science and economics in Japan before taking up sound studies in Germany. In 2002 he co-founded The Sine Wave Orchestra, which received Honorary Mentions at Prix Ars Electronica in 2004 and 2019. He founded AUSREIHE in 2009, an independent organization dedicated to experimental electronic and computer music, and is active in the artist collective NK in Berlin. His work explores spatiality across physical, social, and political registers. Since 2020 he has been Professor of Sound Art at the Berlin University of the Arts.
