Crys Cole

Born in Winnipeg in 1976, this Canadian artist now based in Berlin creates electroacoustic compositions, performances, sculptures, and installations with focused listening and haptic gesture at their core. Using subtle manipulations of everyday materials, her work produces texturally nuanced sound that re-tunes the ear toward the barely audible. Since 2001 she has performed worldwide in collaboration with Oren Ambarchi, Toshimaru Nakamura, Annea Lockwood, and others, including a long-running duo with James Rushford as Ora Clementi. Her recordings have appeared on Black Truffle, Penultimate Press, and INA-GRM.
