Creep of Paris

Creep of Paris is the solo tape-music project of Thomas LaRoche, who records under the alter ego Eudocimus Ruber and moonlights as an insect breeder and secondhand book dealer. Working through collage-based, cassette-rooted composition, the project splices found sound, disquieting samples and lo-fi electronics into unsettling miniature narratives, released on labels including Chocolate Monk, Drowned by Locals and Beartown Records, as well as LaRoche's own imprint Research Laboratories. Albums such as Geronticus Eremita (2019), Karaoke World I and II (2021) and Virgin Brood (2025) trace a restless curiosity for the abject and overlooked, turning junk-shop debris into obsessive sonic dioramas.
