Cosey Fanni Tutti

Christine Carol Newby (born 4 November 1951, Hull) co-founded performance art collective COUM Transmissions in 1969 and Throbbing Gristle in 1976 — pioneers of industrial music on their own Industrial Records label. Playing guitar, cornet, and electronics alongside Genesis P-Orridge, Chris Carter, and Peter Christopherson, TG dissolved in 1981. With Carter she formed Chris & Cosey, later Carter Tutti, producing some 32 albums of synth-pop and ambient electronics. Further work as Carter Tutti Void (with Nik Colk Void) and solo — Tutti (2019, Mute), 2t2 (2025). Memoir: Art Sex Music (2017).
