Cory O'Brien

Cory O'Brien is a New York City-based sound artist active since 2003 in solo and collaborative projects spanning abstract drone, noise, and electroacoustic music. His work centres on field recordings, percussion, and feedback synthesis, exploring the nature of internal sounds and resonant sustained sound fields. Fascinated by recording technology from childhood — experimenting with radios and dictaphones found at junk stores, later spending time in punk bands before gravitating toward the more technical and structural dimensions of sound — his practice now operates in quieter, more physical sonic territories.
