Concepción Huerta

Concepción Huerta is a Mexican sound artist, composer, and photographer based in Mexico City. Her practice emerges from careful attention to the sounds of daily routine, objects, and instruments, processed and layered through tape recorder manipulation and tape processing to create atmospheric works that move between ambient and noise. She approaches sound as narrative — building atmospheres of circumstance, emotion, and ideology from dissident or overlooked sonic material — and is interested in how these narratives can become physical and conceptual influences on listeners.
