Coil

Coil was a British experimental music project formed in 1982 by Peter Christopherson and John Balance, which became one of the most original and influential acts in industrial, occult, and electronic music. Their discography — including Scatology (1984), Horse Rotorvator (1986), Love's Secret Domain (1991), and Time Machines (1998) — demonstrates extraordinary range and depth. Deeply embedded in occult practice, gay identity, and psychedelic experience, their work resists categorization. Balance died in 2004; Christopherson died in 2010. Their legacy continues to grow.
