cLOUDDEAD

cLOUDDEAD was an experimental hip-hop group comprising Dose One (Adam Drucker), Why? (Yoni Wolf), and Odd Nosdam (David Madson), based in Cincinnati and Oakland, releasing on Anticon in the early 2000s. Their debut double-ten-inch series and self-titled album (2001) produced a form of hip-hop built on fractured imagery, stream-of-consciousness surrealism, and lo-fi electronic production that had little precedent. Ten (2004) continued this approach with greater structural ambition. Their influence on independent and experimental hip-hop was considerable, with each member going on to significant solo work. The project was short-lived but has maintained a devoted audience.
