Christoph de Boeck

Born in Belgium in 1972, this Brussels-based artist builds sound installations that investigate the physical and spatial behaviour of acoustic energy through kinetic sculpture and neural interfaces. In one recurring installation visitors wear EEG headsets whose alpha and beta wave readings activate hammers that strike large steel plates hung from the ceiling, creating rhythmic sound environments shaped by the listener's own brain activity. Between 2013 and 2022 he served as co-artistic director of Overtoon, the Brussels platform for sound art, alongside Aernoudt Jacobs.
