Chris Cogburn

Born in Eugene, Oregon in 1973 and based in Austin and Mexico City, this percussionist works at the threshold between acoustic and electronic sound, with focused attention to resonance, just intonation, and the physical properties of objects. Since 2003 he has organized No Idea Festival, an annual gathering of contemporary improvised music in Austin that has also expanded to New Orleans, Mexico City, and Mérida. Current projects include Resonance with Iván Naranjo and Fear of the Object with Norwegian video artist Kjell Bjørgeengen.
