Chantal Michelle

Chantal Michelle is a composer and interdisciplinary artist engaging the spatial, tactile and perceptual dimensions of sound, working across acoustic instrumentation, synthesis, field recordings and voice. Trained as a dancer from an early age, she brings spatial sensitivity to feedback systems, multichannel speaker arrangements and psychoacoustic phenomena that disrupt perception, alongside site-responsive installations, hand-blown glass instruments and conceptual scores. She holds an MFA from Bard College's Milton Avery Graduate School and has received the Villa Aurora Artist Grant and a Berlin Senate composition stipend. She is also half of the noise duo ⎤⎤⎤ with Grace Villamil.
