Cecilie Penney

Based in Copenhagen and born in 1990, this composer and visual artist works across sound, digital media, and installation, with listening at the core of her practice. Her sonic work avoids linearity in favor of improvisation, intuition, and the space where understanding becomes somatic. She has created interactive pieces that probe how societal structures impact the body, including Harmony AI (2018), an interactive choir piece with video projection and Arduino sensors. She works with the collective Sonth and has been active in Bureau for Listening curatorial projects.
