Cat Woywod

Cat Woywod is an artist based in Kassel and Mainz working with voice, sound, light, field recordings, and objects in practice they describe as amphibious—fluid between genres, disciplines, and identities. They use it/them pronouns. Woywod completed a BA in Fine Arts with distinction from the Kunsthochschule Kassel in 2023, specializing in sound and multisensory works, and from 2024 is undertaking a Meisterschüler postgraduate in Sound Art and Composition at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz with Prof. Peter Kiefer. They performed at documenta14 in 2017 for works by Pope L. and Georgia Sagri. Their work draws on experimental music and queer temporal frames, treating sound as fluid.
