Cat Lamb

Born in Olympia, Washington in 1982, Catherine Lamb is an American composer and violist whose work centres on just intonation and extended harmonic space. She studied Hindustani music in Pune, India before completing a BFA at CalArts under James Tenney and Michael Pisaro, and an MFA at Bard College. Her ongoing Prisma Interius series and works including Parallaxis Forma and divisio spiralis have been performed by the JACK Quartet and Ghost Ensemble. Recordings appear on Another Timbre, New World Records, and Sacred Realism. She received the 2020 Ernst von Siemens Composer Prize.
