Cassetteboy

Cassetteboy is a British media prankster duo comprising Steve Warlin and Mark Sutton, based in Bristol. Working with found audio from television, radio, and film, they construct comedic and politically pointed audio collages that repurpose public figures' speech to make them say things they never intended. Their targets have included David Cameron, Boris Johnson, and The Apprentice. Originally releasing on cassette in the 1990s, their internet-era video remixes have attracted enormous audiences, and their Cassetteboy vs. the News series became a defining format of British political comedy. They operate at the boundary of satire, plunderphonics, and audio art.
