Formed in Mexico City in the 1980s by Ulalume, Carlos Robledo, and Walter Schmidt, this dark synthpop trio were regulars at Club 9 and embodied a mitteleuropean atmosphere transplanted to the Mexican underground. Working without drums or guitar at a time when that was provocative, they became central to the city's alternative scene. Their debut album Film appeared in December 1985 on Comrock/WEA and its music featured in the 1986 film Crónicas de familia, nominated for the Ariel Award for best original soundtrack.
