Carl Michael von Hausswolff

Born in Linköping, Sweden in 1956, this Stockholm-based composer and visual artist has worked since the late 1970s with frequencies, radio signals, and electronic interference as primary materials. His installations investigate electricity, paranormal transmission, and architectural space, drawing on his expertise in the electronic voice phenomenon research of Friedrich Jürgenson. He received a Prix Ars Electronica award in 2002 and has shown at documenta X, the Venice Biennale, and Manifesta. In 2019 he formed Dark Morph with Jónsi of Sigur Rós. He has released on Touch and Editions Mego, co-founded the label Radium Audio, and is the father of fellow artist Anna von Hauswolff.
