Bruce Gilbert

Born on 18 May 1946, he was one of the founding members of Wire, the English post-punk band whose three albums Pink Flag, Chairs Missing, and 154 were released between 1976 and 1979. Alongside his band work he formed collaborative projects with Wire bassist Graham Lewis, including Dome and Duet Emmo, and in the 1980s and 1990s produced music for dance and film commissions by choreographers including Michael Clark. He left Wire in 2004 and has continued as a solo artist, with albums including Ab Ovo and Oblivio Agitatum, working in industrial texture and rhythm.
