Brona Martin

Brona Martin is an Irish electroacoustic composer and sound artist from Banagher, Co. Offaly, now a Lecturer in Music and Sound at the University of Greenwich. She holds a PhD in electroacoustic composition from the NOVARS Research Centre at the University of Manchester, supervised by David Berezan. Her multichannel works, in stereo, 5.1 and 8-channel formats, explore narrative, acoustic ecology and spatialisation, turning field recordings of Irish, Australian, Spanish and German soundscapes into metaphorical representations that draw attention to overlooked sonic detail. She has been guest composer at EMS Stockholm, with performances at ZKM, BEAST, ICMC and NYCEMF.
