British Murder Boys
A collaboration between Birmingham techno producers Anthony Child (Surgeon) and Karl O'Connor (Regis), British Murder Boys began in 2002 and drew on the duo's shared roots in post-punk, industrial, and hardcore to push club music toward its confrontational extremes. They released six 12-inch records and a handful of remixes before disbanding in 2006, then reunited for a release on Mute's Liberation Technologies in 2012. Both are co-founders of Downwards Records, which they established in 1993 and which became one of the defining labels for dark, industrial-inflected Birmingham techno.
